Fear from Satan

Posted on

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind

2 Timothy 1:7

Satan will take our God given emotion of fear and use it against us. God gave us the emotion of fear to protect us both spiritually and physically, but Satan wants us to live in fear of life. Satan has created evil in this world causing fear, such as disease, nuclear war, terrorist attack, or economic collapse. There are many things Satan will use to make us feel insecure and fearful, but scripture says we are not given a spirit of fear because God doesn’t want us to live in a state of fear. I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.(Psalm 34:4)

Every Christian will experience fear from Satan as a temptation, and like any temptation we have to find the escape in Christ. We overcome fear by our faith, trusting the Lord to guide us through life and into eternity with him. We overcome fear by knowing we have the promise of eternal life with the Lord, and realizing our soul is eternal and this fleshly suit we wear comes from the earth and returns to the earth while our soul lives forever. When we overcome the fear of death we can conquer the fear from Satan.  But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57

The Lord is for me; I will not fear; What can man do to me? (2 Timothy 1:7) We walk with Lord and he protects our soul from the evil one, and we know heaven is our home. The more we realize this world is not our home but heaven is our home, the more we overcome the fear from the world. We are just ambassadors in this world on a temporary assignment to point lost souls to Christ. The Lord walks with us through this life, and the more fearful this world becomes the closer we are to the Lord, giving us his strength and endurance. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

Today refuse to walk in fear from Satan, but be comforted knowing your home is in heaven and see yourself as an ambassador for Christ on a temporary assignment. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. (2 Corinthians 5:12) Remember your assignment is to point people to Christ.

Prayer: Lord, take away any fear that comes from Satan and give me the faith to trust you in all circumstances. Help me to be eternally minded and to see myself as an ambassador for Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
