Life to the Full

Posted on

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full

John 10:10

Everyone dreams of thriving in life, yet too often we settle for simply surviving the challenges that come our way in this fallen world. If you’re just trying to get by in life, remember that Jesus has promised everyone who follows him the ability to live life to the fullest. How can we experience that kind of life, life to the full?

God’s love is the essence of who God is, and his love is far more powerful than our circumstances or feelings. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. (1 John 4:18) There is no fear because we have the promise of eternal life with the Lord. How can we possibly live life to the full without knowing we have eternal life with the Lord?

You can count on God loving you completely and unconditionally at all times and in all situations. God’s love is a free gift to you, so you don’t need to try to earn it. There is absolutely nothing that can separate you from God’s love, so choose to base your hope on his love and every day open your heart to fully receive God’s love. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

Trust God’s goodness during tough times. God’s goodness is part of his character, so you can rely on his goodness in any situation. Schedule regular times of prayer and worship into your daily life, so you can stay closely connected to God and keep his goodness at the forefront of your mind. When you encounter challenges, bring your problems to God expecting that God will intervene to help you solve them, at the right times and in the right ways. Keep in mind that God is always at work in your life, so something good can be planned for you, even when trouble is happening to you. Invite God to accomplish his good purposes in your life; he will use even the worst circumstances in your life to bring about good when you trust him. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

Tap into the Holy Spirit’s power. If you’re a Christian, God has given you the incredible gift of his Spirit within you. Turn your attention to the Holy Spirit’s presence within you by regularly clearing your mind of what distracts you from God and seek to enjoy God’s presence. As you seek to walk in step with the Holy Spirit, you’ll learn to recognize his voice speaking to you. As you listen to the Spirit speak to you, he will empower you to live a life that reflects what’s best and most fulfilling for you.

Remember that as a Christian, you’re righteous, a holy saint, and you have forgiveness for all your sins. You can enjoy benefits of love, peace, and joy, with confidence and security that comes directly from the Lord through the Spirit. Remember there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ; there are only blessings that you need to simply receive into your life with gratitude.

Today find security by being filled with God’s love. When you experience uncomfortable stressful moments, go to the Lord in prayer. Ask the Lord for peace, wisdom, and confidence or whatever you need at the time. Also during the day, take a minute or two and offer praise and thanks to God. Today seek life to the full.

Prayer; Today, Lord guide me through the Spirit to live life to the full. Help me to walk with peace and joy, with confidence from you, to overcome any mountain that occurs this day. And fill my heart with love that I might reflect it others. In Jesus name, Amen
