Don’t Let Love Grow Cold
Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
Matthew 24:12
Jesus is telling his disciples that the love of most will grow cold due to the increase of wickedness during end times. Satan desire is for our love to grow cold, and does this by killing our love for evil people. This can be easy because many will turn their hatred for evil toward people instead of turning hatred toward sin.
I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:44) It is important that we love all people and hate sin, just as Christ loves everyone and wishes all to be saved, but He hates sin. If our hearts are filled with God’s love, we will love everyone, but we focus our anger at Satan who has deceived people. God’s love in our hearts causes increasing love for people, and it also causes us to hate sin and to become strong Spiritual warriors.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23) Love is the foundation of the fruit of the Spirit. When our hearts are filled with God’s love, the fruit of the Spirit fills our soul and is natural for us. If we hate our enemies our heart will not be filled with love, and the fruit of the Spirit will not be evident for all people.
At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. (Matthew 24:10-11) Jesus tells us many will turn from the faith and deceived by false prophets. During end-times, deception is a major tactic of Satan, and he gets a foothold in our life by tempting our justification. Satan’s plan is to infiltrate the church with someone who will lead us to justify a foothold from Satan. Therefore, we must pray for the Lord’s judgment on our life for anything that is displeasing to Him.
Today reflect God’s love to everyone by showing kindness and respect. We were created to show God’s love to everyone, and it will become fulfilling to us. Be aware of Satan making us angry in attempt to kill the love in our hearts.
Prayer: Lord don’t ever let Satan destroy the love you put in my heart. Let the love in my heart grow stronger as evil increases in the world, and let hatred of sin increase. In Jesus name, Amen
