Don’t Divide Truth

Posted on

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

John 8:32

It is dangerous to divide God’s truth with our own truth. Some people don’t want to hear God’s truth when in conflicts with their desired belief.  We can believe anything we desire but we can never change God’s truth as given in His Word, and we are judged based on God’s truth.

Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. (John 17:17) We are molded to have the mind and heart of Christ, and we cannot be molded unless we live by God’s truth.  When we live partially by our truth, we are content in this life, but time will come when we face eternal judgment, and God judges us on His Truth as given in the Word.  When we live partially by our truth and ignore that portion of God’s truth, are we trying to share the throne with God?

There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you who judge your neighbor? (James 4:12) We are judged by God based on His laws given in the Word. I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. (1 Corinthians 4:3-4) It is very important that we let the Lord be our judge in this life.  If we judge our Christian life, for example judging our faith, obedience to His commands, or putting Christ first; we will most likely justify our Christian life because we all biased. God is our judge and we pray and ask the Lord, is our faith pleasing to him, is our obedience pleasing to Him, and are we truly putting Christ first?

About year and half ago I ask the Lord, is my faith pleasing to you?  I thought my faith was strong, but over a period of 18 months He changed me, and my faith is now pleasing to Him. He taught me to meditate, and to see myself as a servant of Christ.  Meditating I saw God for who he really is, and I saw myself for who I really am, Christ got bigger in my heart as I got smaller in my heart. Today I live every minute of the day mindful of being the Lord’s servant and He is the Master. The Lord is the Master and the servant does whatever the Master says. I pray as God’s servant and I accept the Lord’s answer and His timing.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (Proverbs 3:5) If we truly live by this verse, our faith will be pleasing to God. We pray that the Lord will reveal anything in our life that is not pleasing to Him, because He is our judge. We don’t reap eternal life based on judging ourself.

Today ask the Lord if there is anything in your life not pleasing to Him, and ask Him to change you so you can become more like Christ.  When we live by God’s truth, life becomes more fulfilling and He frees us from being controlled by the world.

Prayer: Lord I pray to live totally by your truth, and keep me from following my truth that disagrees from your Word. Guide me in the Spirit, especially at this time when Satan is filling the world with deception..  In Jesus name, Amen
