Don’t Let Love Grow Cold

Posted on

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Matthew 24:12-13

As Satan’s evil and his hate for Christians increases throughout the world, the love for most will grow cold. Love will grow cold for many who don’t know Christ, but Christians who have hearts filled with God’s unconditional love, their love will grow stronger. Christians will seek the Lord when life gets difficult and when the future is not promising. And the closer we are to the Lord the more love and peace He will give us.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12) We fight Satan’s lies and deceptions that people believe because they don’t know the Truth from God.  God loves everyone but those who don’t except Christ as their Lord and Savior will die with there sins. We show God’s love for lost souls and we  want them to know Christ and live by God’s truth. We pray for lost souls and our hatred of sin from Satan grows stronger.

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. (Matthew 5:44) It is important that we pray for our enemies, otherwise our love may grow cold toward them. We pray for our enemies because God fills our hearts with His unconditional love, but if we don’t love all people, then our love is conditional, and not from God.  Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough? (1 Corinthians 5:6) Christians have unconditional love from God for everyone, while our hate increases toward sin and Satan’s deception.

Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough? (1 John 2:6) God is molding us to conform to the image of His Son, and to be Jesus we need hearts filled with God’s unconditional love. Jesus was motivated by love to bring salvation to the people, heal people, and die on the cross for our sins. It’s a heart of love that makes us like Jesus and enables us to know the Lord.  Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) God’s love in our hearts, enables us to know the Lord, and the more we minister to world reflecting Jesus, the more love God puts in our hearts.  Ministering with love is what prevents our love from growing cold.

Today let the world see God’s love in your heart through kindness, peace, and joy. Pray that the Spirit will lead you to where the love in your heart will increase, and that your love will never grow cold.

Prayer:  Increase your love in my heart for all people, even my enemies.  Never let Satan put any hate in my heart except the hatred of sin.  Never let your love in my heart grow cold.  In Jesus name, Amen
