Divine Power

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21

If we have the Holy Spirit and the faith that pleases God, we can live with the power of Christ. We call on Christ’s power to obey his commands, to overcome Satan’s temptations, and to have the courage to overcome fear from Satan. Living in the Lord’s power is infinitely better than living in our own power. Romans 7:7-10 reveals the result when we live in our own power.

I can do all this through Him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13) The Lord will give his strength to endure anything we may face in this world. We fully depend on the Lord to be with us at all times, and we ask for His divine power, and all the glory belongs to God.

When we fear God, it means we really know God and we depend on Him; and we no longer fear man. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) How can we overcome the world, if Satan fills us with fear? We walk with God who is sovereign over all creation, and we live with divine power without fear, because Heaven is our home.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves. (2 Corinthians 4:7) Our treasure is the Father and the Son, putting our faith in them, and divine power will not be from ourselves, but will be from God. God has promised his power for us, and through our faith and we ask for his power. The fear of God is our treasure, and it keeps us away from sin.

One of the books I have read is titled “The Awe of God,” by John Bevere, which opened my heart to fear God and have the ultimate respect for his greatness. There are many verses in the Bible that tells us to fear God, which means we are not afraid of God, but we truly know God and we seek to please Him. The more we know God and trust him over ourselves, the more we overcome sin, then the more we walk in divine power.

Today ask to walk with the Lord’s divine power and for His glory. The Lord has given us his power, so use it according to his will.

Prayer: Lord, be with me at all times, because I need your power to serve you and to be light in this world. In Jesus name, Amen
