We Trust God Through Christ
If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.
John 14:7
When we read about the life of Christ, note his life and his words come from the Father. Jesus gave them this answer: Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. (John 5:19) And the relationship between the Father and the Son is a model for our relationship with Christ. A close relationship with Christ causes us to trust and obey him totally in every circumstance we encounter.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. (Revelations 3:20) Every day we ask the Lord to be with us, because we need Christ with us at all times. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) It’s a blessing having Christ with us to guide our thoughts, words, and actions; and especially when we are ministering to people.
Our show our faith in God through our faith in Christ, and we trust the Lord more than we trust ourselves. He is God and his love for us more than we can imagine, and his guidance is perfect; and that is why we give the Lord top priority in our life. There is nothing in this world that competes with doing the Lord’s will.
We always seek to obey Christ.
• We obey immediately
• We obey if don’t fully understand
• We obey even when don’t see personal benefit
• We obey even it is painful and fearful.
• We obey to completion
We have no excuse for not obeying Christ as our top priority, and when we obey Christ we are obeying the Father. The reward we get for always immediately obeying Christ, is our eternal home Heaven with the Father and Son. Our faith in Christ brings us home.
Today seek to do whatever the Lord puts on your heart, and do it immediately.
Prayer: Lord help me trust you completely and to always do what you have called me to do, and I need Christ with me always. In Jesus name, Amen
