The Image of God
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them;
Genesis 1:27
male and female he created them.
Every human being that ever lived was created in the image of God. When we live as God created us, we live the most fulfilling life possible and Heaven is our eternal home. However, Satan has deceived many people in this world, so they will not live as God created them.
This great dragon—the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was thrown down to the earth with all his angels. (Revelations 12:9) Satan deceives people by having them governed by their fleshly desires; pursuit of money, power, and possessions, and Satan deceives their minds to believe his lies about God.
As Christians we live by the Spirit, and we know scriptures to combat the lies that many people believe. We start with scripture telling them they are created in the image of God and we describe the characteristics of the image of God. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) When we live by the Spirit, we live have spiritual life and peace.
People that don’t know the Word of God, and they don’t know Father and the Son, are spiritually dead. Life is in our spirit, and if the spirit is not satisfied, the person will never have lasting satisfaction. Only God can satisfy the spirit with lasting satisfaction and contentment. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. (Philippians 4:11) The apostle Paul was content in all circumstances, because God fed his spirit with lasting contentment.
The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. (Romans 8:7) We are created in the image of God and our minds are governed by Christ through the Spirit, but Satan has people governed by their fleshly desires which is hostile to God.
Christians know scriptures that show the benefits of living by the Spirit that gives lasting contentment and peace. We are created in the image of God which means we live in the image of God. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) Nothing from the world can never compare to the blessing that God continually feeds into our spirit, and that is life to the full.
Today know you are created in the image of God, and live life to the full. No one can ever have to the full unless they know the Father and the Son.
