Closer to the Lord

Posted on

Come near to God and he will come near to you.

James 4:8

We can be as close to the Lord as we desire, and he will reveal himself to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13) We need the desire to forever be closer to the Lord. We seek to put Christ first in our life, and that He will always be with us through the Holy Spirit, and guide us through each day.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13) This verse is why we need Christ with us because we are a Light for Christ. And with Christ being with us, we can tell others about salvation in Christ. He will guide us with scriptures and words that the person we witness to needs to hear.

There is a divine advantage when we put the Lord first in our life. It means we are close to Christ and we depend on him, and the more we truly depend on the Lord the closer we are to Christ. Putting the Lord first gives us his strength and security with a heart of love that we reflect to the world.

And He said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind’ “This is the great and foremost commandment. “The second is like it, ‘you shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:37-39) This is the most important commandment, to love the Lord more that anyone or anything, then we can love our neighbor as ourselves. The Father and the Son loves us more than we can imagine, and we love the Father and the Son, because Jesus died on the cross for our sins. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) We should never forget that Jesus died for our sins.

Today seek to fill your heart with God’s love, and help me to reflect love to others.

Prayer: Father, help my heart to be filled with your love, because the more love in my heart the closer I am to Christ. There’s no greater feeling that being one with the Lord. In Jesus name, Amen
