Light of the World

Posted on

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Mathew 5:14

Living in the light is reflecting Christ to everyone, and God is molding all Christians to conform to the likeness of his Son. The more Christ-like we become, the easier it is to reflect Christ.

Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God (1 John 4:7). A heart of love makes it natural to be light for Christ, because we want people to live for eternal life. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; (1 Corinthians 6:19) We have the Holy Spirit of God living in us, and our body is a temple, and the love from the Spirit enables us to be a light for Christ.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23) The fruit of the Spirit is the character of a Christian, and living by the Spirit gives us peace and patience to be a light for Christ. Jesus was a light when he was on the earth, and now we are the Light on hill.

God will open doors so we can be a light to the world, because in many places people are against Christians. But no matter where we live, we still live by the fruit of the Spirit. God will always have a way that we can bring people to Christ, and we pray that he opens doors for us.

God’s love is an unconditional love that reaches out to everyone with kindness and a caring heart. God’s love is truth and light which brings people to Christ with encouragement and hope. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing (1Thessalonians 5:11).

Today, reflect the light of Christ to everyone and know all those in God’s family throughout the world are our Christian brothers and sisters, and we are connected by God’s love in our hearts.

Prayer: Lord, let your light shine through me, and let your truth reach the hearts of those living in darkness. In Jesus’ name, Amen
