Christians Serve Christ
If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
John 12:26
All Christians are servants of Christ, and we do whatever He puts on our hearts. We are pleased that we can be a servant of Christ, because of the love we have for Christ. When we live to serve Christ, we are closer to the Father and to Christ. A Christian gets great pleasure in being a servant to Christ and to others, because our security comes from Christ and not from the world.
But made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. (Philippians 2:7) Jesus is God, but his time on earth he lived as a servant, because a servant has a humble heart and the desire to help others, especially telling lost souls about salvation through Christ. Will others listen when we tell others about Christ without a humble serving heart? We encourage people and lift them up toward Christ.
The greatest among you shall be your servant. (Matthew 23:11) The Lord is pleased when we have servant heart, and we are blessed every time we have the opportunity of being a servant. If Jesus was a servant, then we are servant, because we are being molded to have the mind of Christ. Being a servant to a Christian is very fulfilling and enjoyable.
A Christian with a serving heart, also has a heart to help others and tells others about Christ. We pray that the Lord will open doors so we can help others and tell them about Christ. We are always looking and praying for opportunities to tell people about Christ.
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:3-5) When we minister to people, we see others more significant than self, that means we encourage others and show confidence in them. How can we minister people if we look down at them?
Today serve Christ by seeking opportunities to tell someone about salvation through Christ.
Prayer: Lord guide me to help others and to tell them about salvation in Christ.
