Christ is Our Power

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.

Ephesians 3:20

We are created to live with Christ who will make his home in our hearts, guiding us through the Spirit with his divine power working in us. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) Christ lives in us and we are to live for Christ, giving Him priority in our life and living in His guidance and power.

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) We are dependent on remaining in Christ because the purpose of our life is to bear fruit and to be a light in this world telling others about salvation through Christ. We are be like Jesus in this world, reflecting his love and compassion to everyone. Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. (1 John 2:6) We remain in Christ and we live as Jesus did, walking in divine power.

Satan can make it difficult to live for Christ and depend on his power working in us because Satan wants us to live in our own power and forget about the power God has for us. He wants us to depend on self and not have the faith that depends on God. The world depends on self, but we depend on the power of God within us, and we overcome the world.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57) We live with victory in Christ by doing His will, which is not the same as victory in the world; victory in Christ is divine victory that leads to eternal life. Our worldly victory is when we lead someone to accept Christ which leads to eternal victory. We are the few on the narrow road to life.  While the world turns against Christians, we will always live with victory, and when Christ returns, our victory will be evident to the whole world.

We may be the few on the narrow road, but we walk with God, who is sovereign over all creation. If we have the divine power of God living in us, how can we live in fear?  So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10) The Lord tells us not to fear because his power will strengthen us, and we will endure because we are in his right hand. We just have to believe that the Lord will give us his strength whenever we need it to stand for Christ.

Today, know the Lord is with you and walk in his divine power and strength. Ask in prayer for his guidance and power in everything you do today. This will help make it a habit of depending on the Lord to be a light in this world.

Prayer:  Lord, I pray that I will live in your power and always depend on you to guide me through each day as powerful light in this world.  In
