Christ Gives us Victory
For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.
Deuteronomy 20:4
Our enemy is Satan who is constantly trying to pull us away from Christ. But we have the power of God to overcome Satan’s temptations, and God has total power over Satan and he gives us his power.
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13) When we are tempted by Satan, always remember God has given us the power to overcome evil from Satan. Satan never gives up tempting us, and we never give up overcoming Satan’s evil.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20) When we realize the power we have from God through the Holy Spirit, we can live in victory. Walking with the Lord living according to his ways, which means we can experience victory throughout life.
The closer we are to the Lord the more we hate sin, and the more power we have to overcome evil. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3) We have the infinite power of God with us and we can live in victory over Satan.
The problem is that someday we may justify something that is sinful to God. But the Spirit in us will convict us when are leaning toward sin, but we have to be still inside to notice the Spirit’s conviction. God has given us everything we need to stay on the narrow road to Heaven.
For You are my rock and my fortress; For Your name’s sake You will lead me and guide me. (Psalm 31:3) We are comforted by the Lord’s love and by his promise to guide us and give us the strength to endure anything Satan puts in our path, and the ultimate victory is when we take our last breath and step into eternity with our Lord.
Today experience victory from Christ as you overcome Satan’s temptations. If anything occurs today that falls in the category of defeat; pray and seek guidance to overcome.
Prayer: Lord, help me today to experience victory in Christ, and keep my thoughts on things above. In Jesus name, Amen
