Be Patience

Posted on

Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Matthew 24:29-30

Be patience for the Lord’s return when the lost world will mourn and be judged, and those who serve Christ will be taken away into Heaven. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. (Matthew 24:31) While we remain in this world, we are called to point people to Christ because when the last day comes, it will be too late.  Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:4) The Lord wishes all to come to the Truth therefore Christians desire all to come to the Truth.  And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:14) The purpose of the church is to bring the Gospel to the world. Every Christian is to be a Light wherever the Spirit leads them.

Our desire to point souls to Christ helps us to be patient and reduces any fear we may have. We serve the Lord and we trust the Lord as our Master to guide us through life to our last breath. We trust the Lord to give us whatever we need to endure Satan’s evils in the world. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (1 Corinthians 13:7) With God’s love in our hearts, we have a close, loving relationship with the Lord, and we conquer fear as we anxiously wait for our eternal home in Heaven where we can be with the Father and the Son.  Our love for the Father and the Son drives us to be with them in Heaven, and this drive can be so powerful it takes away fear of death. This is why scripture says: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. ’The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31) The power of God’s love in our hearts is more than we can imagine.

Seek the Lord, meditate on His love, read the Word, serve Him to know Him, and do this every day.  The foundation of a Christian’s life is to know Christ and having a heart filled with his love. Love takes away fear, drives our heart to bring Christ to others, and increases our desire to be with the Father and the Son in eternity.

While we are on this earth, we care about and minister to lost souls. This brings us closer to the Lord because we depend on Him to minister to the world. He fills our heart with love and this frees us from self, and places our focus on God and others. This gives us patience.

Today, be patient knowing Christ will return to take you home.  Fill your days with serving the Lord because time is short. Live every day for Christ until your last day.

Prayer:  Lord, let me be patient to endure the evils of this world by serving you with a heart of love. In Jesus’ name, Amen
