Never Avoid God’s Truth

Posted on

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Psalm 145:18

Satan’s goal is to have Christians avoid and replace God’s truth with their self-will.  Satan will use other people to influence us and replace our understanding of scripture with our own will. There are people who just avoid God’s truth and seem to think God’s truth just goes away — out sight, out of mind. The scripture above says the Lord is near to those call on him in truth.

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. (2 Timothy 4:3-4)  People have a natural tendency to find others who support their own desires to satisfy their itching ears. They listen to others more than they listen to God’s commands.

Some people avoid God’s truth because they it’s too difficult, they find it fearful, or inconvenient. Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin. (James 4:17) Satan will use any tactic he can to play on our weaknesses to keep us from obeying the Lord’s commands.

Today, live in the Lord’s Truth and reap the rewards. The Lord is pleased when we trust him and obey his will, and we are blessed when we obey. Don’t let Satan pull you away from doing the Lord’s will.

Prayer:  Lord, guide me to live by your Truth and keep me from being deceived by Satan. I pray that I will always serve you with a heart of love and truth.  In Jesus’ name, Amen
