At Home in God’s Family

Posted on

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Romans 8:15-17

When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we move into our new home, into God’s family living in the Kingdom. Nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you. (Luke 17:21) We have a perfect loving Father who protects our soul for eternity and we are comforted and secure in his family.

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. (John 10:28-29) With God all things are possible and we have his divine promise that no one can separate us from him, not even Satan with his evil deceptions.

How blessed we are to be in the Lord’s family with our souls in the Kingdom comforted by the Lord’s perfect love. Knowing his perfect love and care for us, causes our faith to reach new heights. With faith that pleases the Lord, we can live life to the full. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) Living in the Lord’s family, confident and secure with faith that pleases God, we become even more secure.

The Lord’s family is filled with Spirit and love between all members, a love that looks into the heart. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7) God sees the hearts of those in his family by listening to their thoughts.

Today be thankful that you are in God’s family and living in the Kingdom. Keep your thoughts on things above and your soul will remain in the Kingdom. Spend time whenever possible with those in God’s family for support and comfort. Remember all of those in the Lord’s family help and care for each other.

Prayer: Lord thank you for letting me live in your family and in your perfect love. Help me to return that love by obeying your good, pleasing, and perfect will. In Jesus name, Amen
