Are You Sharing God’s Throne?

Posted on

You shall have no other gods before Me.

Exodus 20:3

The person we sometimes place before God is ourselves. Do we go to God in prayer, depending on him when we are ministering to someone? Do we pray before we teach a Bible class, and commune with him during the day? I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) The more we depend on the Lord, the more divine guidance he gives us, and the more blessing we receive from him. When we depend on the Lord, the more assurance we have of not trying to share his throne.

We pray based on our understanding, but we fully trust God for his timing and his answer. This is the faith that pleases God, a faith that trust his ways over our ways. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (Proverbs 3:5) When we lean on our own understanding, we could be trying to share the throne with God. We are to trust the Lord with all our heart and follow the Holy Spirit because we need the Lord’s help to walk as Jesus did. Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. (1 John 2:6)

Trusting the Lord and depending on him will become a habit, which makes life easier because our confidence and security increases through Christ. This is how the Lord sets us free, by depending on him to guide us through life with his divine wisdom and power. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)

We are free in Christ with our hearts filled with his love, peace, and joy; therefore living life to the full. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) We are set free because we are one with the Lord, and through his love and power, he guides us through life to our heavenly home. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) When we trust the Lord and step off the throne, we are free in Christ because he gives his power to overcome the world.

Today, trust the Lord and lean not own your own understanding. Go to the Lord in prayer for his guidance through your day. Pray for safety, patience, and respect when driving, for his words when in meetings, for his guidance when ministering to others, and to be Christ-like in every situation. Live as God’s servant and live in God’s blessings.

Prayer: Lord, help me to trust you fully and walk as your servant. That is the only way I can be free in Christ and show others what it’s like to overcome the world. Thank you, Lord, for your divine plan, both in this physical life and in eternal life. In Jesus name, Amen
