Ambassador for Christ

Posted on

We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.

2 Corinthians 5:20

God sees us as an ambassador, temporarily assigned to a foreign land to represent life in our homeland. We live temporarily in this foreign land by representing Christ, and Heaven is our homeland. It’s a temporary assignment, and when our ambassadorship is over, we go home to Heaven. Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14) This life is short , but we live in Heaven, our homeland forever.

The purpose of being an ambassador is to represent the views and policies of the homeland to those in the foreign land, and our task is to represent Christ in this world. Even though an ambassador is in a foreign land, we keep close contact with their homeland, and we achieve this because Christ is with us through the Spirit. We keep a close connection to Heaven, through prayer, Bible study, and Christian fellowship.

An ambassador is guided by the leaders from his home country, and presents his homeland’s views and policies. We represent Christ, through the Word, his love, power, wisdom; as he guides us through this temporary life.

Today, we seek to see ourself as an ambassador for Christ, and we know Heaven is our homeland.

Prayer: Lord, help me to know that I am ambassador for Christ living temporarily in this foreign land, and that Heaven is my home. Help me to represent Christ to everyone today in my thoughts, words, and actions. In Jesus name, Amen
