Hearts of Love

Posted on

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

1 John 4:7

Our love comes from God, and the more we bring people to Christ the more love we receive from God. Love motivates us to help people and bring them to Christ. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. (1 John 4:12) With a heart of God’s unconditional love, we seek to help others and tell them about salvation through Christ.

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. (1 John 4:10) We are loved by God and the Son, as shown as Jesus was crucified for our sins. And after Jesus accented into heaven, he sent the Holy Spirit to us. There is no greater love than the love from the Father and the Son, because they want our eternal home on Heaven.

And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. (John 4:10) The love from God changes our hearts to love everyone on the planet, but we hate the evil some people display. The only one we hate is Satan, because of hos lies and deceptions. Every person is created by God, and somewhere in their hearts is goodness. We are light for Christ, and we seek to show love to everyone because it shows a caring and kind heart.

Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it I not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. (1 Corinthians 13:4-5) This verse describes a Christian with a heart of love. We cannot be free in Christ unless we are free from self, and a heart of love frees us from self. We put God and others first, then we are free. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) A heart of love makes every command in the Bible more natural and desirable.

Today seek to help others with a kind and loving heart. Be patient with people to see what they believe.

Prayer: Lord, fill my heart with your love and kindness. In Jesus name, Amen
