You Can Depend on the Lord

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Matthew 7:7

The Lord is faithful and will always help us if we ask and seek. If we live for Christ and depend on him for guidance, we can ask and he will respond. However, it is important that we truly depend on Christ and his help.

For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. (Isaiah 41:13) Whatever we are doing that is his will, we can ask for his divine help and he promises to help us. We trust the Lord and we desperately depend on his divine help, especially when we are ministering to the world. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) We are always doing our best to reflect Christ and we cannot do this without remaining in him, guided by the Spirit. Serving the Lord is bearing fruit and the Lord is always with us if we are dependent on him and seek his guidance.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. (1 John 5:14-15) If we are living in accordance to his divine will, we can be sure that our prayers are heard and answered. We depend on the Lord and have the faith to patiently wait for his divine answer. If we are currently ministering to someone, we can pray for his words, scriptures, and he will answer immediately.

I cannot stress enough how critically important it is to depend on the Lord, both in our minds and in our hearts. Sometimes, when we do not depend on the Lord, then by default we are depending on self. This is something that we need to be aware of because we can step out into the world without calling on the Lord’s guidance and help. I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. (Psalm 16:8) Always keep your eyes on the Lord because you can depend on him, because he is loves us and is faithful to those who serve him.

Today depend on the Lord in everything you do because you know in your heart you can do everything better with his guidance and help. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20) You can trust the Lord to release his power in you, if you have faith and truly depend on him.

Prayer: Lord I pray that I will truly depend on you and will always trust you. Help me to trust your ways over my ways, knowing your ways are above my ways as the heavens are above the earth. In Jesus’ name, Amen
