Word of God

Posted on

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow.

Hebrews 4:12

It’s important that we know the Word because when we minister to people, we need to back up our words with scripture. How can we minister to others without the Word of God? Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8) We minister knowing the word of God, because the power is in the Word.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) The Word is a necessity when bringing people to Christ, because the power comes from God. We need Christ with us at all times to guide our thoughts, words and actions.

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. (John 15:4-5) We need Christ with us at all times, because Christ will enable us to remember scriptures that the person we are ministering to needs to hear.

Today continue reading the Word and seek to memorize scriptures because we never know when we need scriptures.

Prayer: Lord, help me to read and memorize scriptures, and I need Christ with with me every day. In Jesus name, Amen
