We Live Forever

Posted on

Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever.

1 Corinthians 15:42

When Christ we will be raised from the dead, because our soul and spirit live forever and when Christ returns, we get a new eternal body. Humans have been made for all eternity. Our soul and spirit will live forever; death is not the end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) When we die our soul and spirit live forever, which means only our earthy flesh dies.

Our body is a suit we wear while living on the earth. We get a new body, and our soul and spirit live forever; which means we are the same person in eternal life as we were on earth.

Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) Only the body dies, and our soul lives forever. When Christ returns, we get a new eternal body and where we spend eternity depends on our short life on earth.
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. (1 John 2:15-16) We either love God or we love the world. Our purpose for living on the earth is to live for Christ, and Christ will give us everything we need to live on earth so Heaven will be our eternal home. Many people live a worldly life, and when they die, they believe life is over. When the body dies, we step into eternity.

The truth is we live an earthly life for Christ, and when the body dies, we step into eternity. When we compare life on earth to eternal life, life on earth becomes very short. Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. (James 4:14) We should always live for eternal life because we never know when we will leave this earth.

We live for eternity by having a church family, reading the Word of God every day, and telling others about eternal life through Christ. We pray everyday with a thankful heart, and we ask for Christs guidance through the Holy Spirit. We talk to Christ as we go through our day, because the spirit of Christ is with us. You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. (Romans 8:9)

Today live for Christ and follow his guidance through the Spirit. Remember the Holy Spirit, and the Father and the Son can be with you. When we are baptized, we receive the Holy Spirit, and when we seek to obey the Word of God, the Father and the Son are with us.

Prayer: Father guidance me down the Narrow Road to Heaven every day and night of my life on earth. In Jesus name, Amen
