The World

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.

1 John 2:15

For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. (1 John 2:16) God gives us everything we need to live this short earthly life and we should have a have thankful heart. Our home is not this earthly life, because our home is eternal life in Heaven.

The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:17) Life on earth is the only time we have to make Heaven our eternal home. When our body dies our soul and spirit lives forever, and when Christ returns, we get a new younger eternal body.

What good is for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul. (Mark 8:36) Life on earth is short, and no one is promised tomorrow. Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. (James 4:14) We should live every day for eternal life, because we never know when our life on earth ends.

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14) Many people are on the broad road to destruction, and they live for their earthly life, with little or no thought of their eternal life.

People that are on the narrow road, have the Holy Spirit, and the Father and the Son make their home with them. Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” (John 14:23) God has done everything so we can live on the narrow road to Heaven, except he has given us free will
. Therefore, its our choice, we can live for this worldly life or we can live for eternal life in Heaven.
Today live for eternal life. Have a church family, read and study the Word, get baptized and receive the Holy Spirit, obey the Word, and bring others to Christ.

Prayer: Lord, guide me to live each day for eternal life, and with a thankful heart for the blessing while living in this world. In Jesus name, Amen
