Wait for the Lord

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

Psalm 27:14

When serving the Lord, we need patience because it takes time for us to change. The Lord knows exactly how we need to change because no one is perfect. He is always trying to change our minds and hearts to be more like Christ, and He will keep changing us to our last breath.

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (Romans 8:29) God changes all Christians to the mind and heart of Jesus, and He will keep changing us until we reach Heaven. We must be patience as the Lord changes us, because we don’t change overnight.

Sometimes we pray and we have to wait for the answer. The Lord may test us when our prayer is not answered, and things in our life are not working as planned; but we keep serving as we wait on the Lord. The most important thing we do is to bring people to Christ, and Christ always has a way we can do this. We bring people to Christ by talking to them, handing out literature, sending emails, prayer, and inviting them to Church.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31) When we continue serving Christ, even when life is not so good, he will give us strength and we will not grow weary, because we know Christ is always with us.

Patience is a fruit of the Spirit which is needed as we wait on the Lord, because his timing is perfect. We continue to serve the Lord independent of any condition in our life. It’s easy to serve the Lord when life is good, but we continue to serve the Lord even when we wonder where God is. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9) We can remember this scripture when we are waiting on the Lord.

Today remember we always serve the Lord independent of worldly circumstances, and we always trust his thoughts and ways over our thoughts and ways.

Prayer: Give me the strength and wisdom to always trust and the patience to wait. In Jesus name, Amen
