Value Others Above Self
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,
Philippians 2:3
Every human being on the planet is created in the image of God, so how can we look down on someone created by God? If we truly have a heart for bringing Christ to people, we will value others above self no matter who they are, and we can’t do this unless we have a truly humble heart.
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. (Hebrews 13:16) If we really understand God’s love for everyone, then we will care about everyone, and seek to share with everyone. We help with physical needs whenever possible and we show them Christ by our caring heart. People will know we care about them by our actions, then they will know we are a Christian; and we can possibly tell them about Christ.
And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:39) It doesn’t matter who the person is, if they are open to someone who cares about them; however, there are few people who are so self-centered they don’t care about others. We always show patients and we never argue, but we stand in Gods truth. We show love and a caring heart, which will possibly open the door for God’s truth. There is always a way reveal Christ to others, even if it’s only showing a loving caring heart.
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27) Every human being is created in the image of God, and when we live in the image of God, we live the best life possible on this planet. We see people as God sees people – infinitely important, and we have love for everyone, even evil people who have been deceived by Satan.
Satan seeks to make us partially self-centered which reduces our love for lost souls, which can make us of little use in this world for God. But if we obey God’s will, he will change our hearts to love everyone and have the desire to help others.
Today see others as created in the image of God, look for opportunities to help other; and too show respect to everyone.
Prayer: Father, keep filling my heart with your divine love, guide me to love everyone, and to always show kindness and love with a caring heart. In Jesus name, Amen
