Stay Off the Broad Road

Posted on

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Mathew 7:13-14

We can stay on the narrow road that leads to eternal life, if don’t let Satan pull us to the broad road.  It’s our choice that leads the direction of which road to follow. We can make sinful worldly choices that lead to the broad road to destruction, or we can make Godly wise choices that lead to the narrow road to eternal life. The choices we make each day will determine our eternal destiny.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; (1 Peter 2:9) We are in God’s family and we are holy people, and holy people make Godly choices. The Holy Spirit will convict us, by making us uncomfortable with wrong choices that lead to the broad road.

No Christian is perfect, and that is why we have forgiveness when we have Godly sorrow. But a Christian’s heart desires to be perfect, and we fight against sinful fleshy desires. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21) Whenever we have a sinful thought, we replace it with a good thought or a good action that is pleasing to God.  We have to control our thoughts or Satan will tempt our minds to sin. Our war is against Satan who hates us, and wants to pull us away from God.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13) Since we are in the family of God, we have divine power over Satan and all his temptations. No one likes defeat especially from Satan who hates us because we are created in the image of God. We can have the great advantage of being victorious over Satan and his demons, because we have the divine power of God.

Satan cannot pull us onto the broad road because we have the power of God to be victorious. We are becoming powerful spiritual warriors, so we can become power warrior in this spiritual battle and destroy Satan’s temptations.

Today stay off the broad road by overcoming Satan’s temptations. Know you have divine power to be victorious, so don’t let your self-will cause defeat.

Prayer: Father, give me your divine power to stay off the broad road. In Jesus name, Amen
