Truth becomes Lies

Posted on

He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

John 8:44

This verse is what Jesus was telling the prideful Pharisees because they were living by Satan’s lies. Satan always does the opposite of God’s truth, and those who are deceived will call Satan’s lies truth and God’s truth lies.  Satan lies about God keeping people from finding the Truth. there

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:6-8) Those who believe Satan’s lies are governed by their fleshly desires, while those who are governed by the Spirit live in God’s truth. This is the spiritual war we fight, God’s truth verses Satan’s lies, or governed by the flesh or governed by the Spirit.

We can see the power of our fleshly will in our spiritual war when our will verses God’s will. Satan’s goal is to get a foothold in our lives so we replace our will for God’s will without knowing we were ever tempted.  Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8) Knowing the power of the flesh gives us an understanding of those who believe Satan’s lies.

Satan’s goal is to keep people from reading the Word, praying, associating with Christians, believe God doesn’t care, or totally forget about God. Satan wants to keep people totally absorbed in worldly affairs and desires of the flesh, so they forget about the spiritual world and eternity.  People who don’t know God’s truth from the Word, by default will believe Satan’s deceptions.

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”  Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. (Matthew 24:3-4) The first thing Jesus says about the end of the age is being deceived. We can see how Satan has deceived the whole world turning people and governments against Christians. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. (Revelations 12:9) Satan deceives the whole world with his lies, making God’s truth become lies.

Today stay in God’s truth and be governed by the Spirit, because Satan is always planning his attack. Live by the Spirit and control any sinful desire through the power of Christ.

Prayer:  Lord guide me to always live by your divine truth, and never be deceived by Satan’s lies. Guide me in the Spirit to bring Truth to overcome Satan’s lies. In Jesus name, Amen
