Think About Eternal Life
Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,
Hebrews 9:27
It’s amazing how the world has little thought about facing eternal judgment, because their thoughts are more concerned about things of the world. This is a deception from Satan because he doesn’t want our thoughts on things above, and that is why the Word says: Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2)
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) The reason many people have their minds on things of the world is because they are governed by the flesh, and go through their days thinking mostly of the tasks they need to do with little thought or no thoughts on things above. And there are many people that Satan has deceived, so they don’t believe in God, and they think what they believe will exempt them from any eternal judgment. It’s amazing how Satan can deceive man so he becomes his own god.
The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7) Our heart is revealed by our thoughts and since God judges us by our thoughts, our thoughts are extremely important. Our thoughts reveal what has priority in our life, and what motivates us to serve the Lord and to obey his commands. At the end of the day what do our thoughts reveal to God?
When we are close to the Lord we interface to the world through the Spirit, because the Spirit is our filter between our soul and the world. The Spirit determines what enters our mind and determines our words and actions. We handle the things of the world through the Spirit just the way Jesus did, and this is how we always serve the Lord and remain mindful of eternal life.
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14) This physical life is short, and is the one and only chance to get right with God and have Heaven as our eternal home. So don’t believe Satan’s lies; “I am a good person,” or “I hope my good out ways my bad,” or “The Bible is written by men.” Read the Word find God’s Truth, and take eternal life seriously.
Today live for eternal life, because no matter what we believe, everyone will die and face eternal judgment. Our eternal life is our choice, so tell everyone to take it seriously.
Prayer: Lord guide me to tell everyone that they will face judgment from God, and his judgement is given the Word. In Jesus name, Amen
