The Road to Heaven

Posted on

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Matthew 7:13-14

The narrow road leads to Heaven, while the broad road leads to eternal destruction. The reason many are on the broad road is because they believe Satan’s lies and live for their fleshly desires; and when they die, they think life is over, but our eternal life begins. Not many people in this world take the time to find the narrow road because they are busy living for their fleshly desires, and they believe Satan’s lies.

If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. (John 14:16-17) We are obedient to best our ability, by reading the Word and having a church family. When we are baptized, then we will have the Holy Spirit living within us.

You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. (Romans 8:9) The Spirit of Christ is the Holy Spirit which connects us to Christ, but without the Holy Spirit we don’t belong to Christ. But its never to late to join a church and receive the Holy Spirit, and be saved for eternal life.

Life on the narrow road is the best most fulfilling life we can have, but Satan lies keep people away from finding the narrow road to Heaven. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:23-24) Christians try to be perfect be all fall short, but Christ died for our sins and we have forgiveness; when our hearts truly seek forgiveness.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) We are not saved by works, but when God changes our heart, then we do what the Word tells us, because we care about others and we desire to help others and tell them about Christ. It’s no longer work, it’s a desire of our hearts. Jesus never was motivated by works, he was motivated by love for the Father and for all people.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesian 2:10) Christ changes our hearts and we hurt for lost souls, and we pray for the Lords help in telling them about salvation through Christ. Our work is now motivated by a heart of love for all people, just like Jesus was motivated.

Today live on the narrow road and show kindness to everyone, and pray for guidance in telling others about salvation through Christ.

Prayer: Lord, keep me on the narrow road and guide be to help others and tell them about Christ. In Jesus name. Amen
