Purpose of Life

Posted on

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

God has divine purpose for every human being, and we are created for the purpose he has for each of us, and when our life fulfills his purpose, we live the best life possible and Heaven is our eternal home. We are filled with the Holy Spirit and the Father and Son make their home with us, so we are guided to fill our purpose.

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) Most people are governed by our fleshly desires, but Christians are governed by the Spirit. Everything we see, hear, and say is governed by the Spirit; this may sound difficult but it’s the way God created us to live, and it will become natural the more we know the Word.

The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:7-8) If we cannot please God when we are governed by the flesh, therefore we must be created to be governed by the Spirit. We make many decisions in the flesh, but every decision is approved by the Word and by the Spirit; and we reflect Christ wherever we go and whatever we do.

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14) Life on this earth is very short, and it is the only chance we have to get right with God; and tomorrow is not promised. We should always be ready to leave this life, and following this life we all will face judgment from God based on what we have done in this life.

For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead. (James 2:26) We are spiritual people living a physical body, and our body will die, but our spirit lives forever. And when Christ returns, we get an eternal body that never ages and lasts forever.

We are saved by faith, which means we trust the Lord to guide us through life into Heaven, and we trust the Lord more than we trust ourself. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6) When we follow the Word and the Lord, our paths will be straight to Heaven.

Today know you have a divine purpose to fulfill your life serving Christ
and obeying the Word.

Prayer: Lord guide me to fill the purpose you have for me in this short life. In Jesus name, Amen
