The Fulfilling Life
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
John 10:10
Everything from the world only brings temporary pleasure, which causes people to always seek more from the world. The Father and the Son will bring us contentment that will last forever; through our earthly life and in Heaven for eternity. We will never get tired of being with the Father and the Son; only our earthy flesh is always seeking more. Trying to have life to the full from the world, is like chasing a pot of gold and the end of rainbow.
Life to the full only exists through knowing and serving Christ, because everything from God lasts forever, and becomes more fulfilling every day. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) The greatest thing about serving Christ is that we will never get bored on tired, in fact we will have a forever increasing desire to serve Christ.
We can become tired of everything from the world, but with everything from God through Christ will gives us great joy forever. Only God gives lasting contentment in every circumstance of life. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. (Philippians 4:12) The apostle Paul suffered greatly during his Christian life, but Christ fed his soul with lasting contentment that was always with Paul, and God will do the same for every Christian that serves Christ.
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21) The apostle Paul was so close to Christ, that he was ready to leave this earth to be with Christ in Heaven. The closer we are to Christ, the closer we desire to be With Christ, to the point we are ready to leave this earth and go to our Heavenly home. That is life to the full from God, who gives us the divine power to be with the Father and Son.
Today live life to the full, and live to be closer to the Father and the Son; by serving Christ, reading the Word, and prayer.
Prayer: Lord, help me to live life to the full for your glory, to show lasting contentment that comes from above. In Jesus name, Amen
