The Blessings of Patience

Posted on

And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.

1 Thessalonians 5:14

We should seek to be patience with other people, especially when we are telling others about Christ. People don’t change overnight, but we show patience and pray for the people we are ministering.

With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love. (Ephesians 4:2) Patience is powerful when we care about others and reflect God’s love. We are being molded to the mind of Christ, and when we read the Word about Christ do we ever see Christ in a hurry when helping or speaking to others?

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant. (1 Corinthians 13:4) This verse tells us that love is patience, because with heart of love we care about others. We minister to people and we show that we care about their physical life and their physical life. If we don’t care about the person, it may be difficult to help them spiritually. We show kindness to everyone, and if they get angry, we still show kindness and if necessary, we leave their presence.

May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy. (Colossians 1:11) Christ will strengthen us with the power of the Word, as we patiently minster others. It’s important to listen to others when ministering, because we need to know what they believe before we quote and explain scriptures. We always reflect joy because it can show confidence in others.

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. (Romans 12:12) Tribulations happens to most everyone at some level, but we put our hope is Christ, and we patiently seek to go through the tribulation with Christ. When we go through life with patience mentally, we can walk with the wisdom of God. We have schedules to meet, but we can be mentally patience which can help us think more clearly.

And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil. (2 Timothy 2:24) We do our best to avoid quarrelling with others because we have patience, which can help keep our emotions under control. Christians should always seek to have self-control, which is fruit of the Spirit.

Today seek to be patient with people and show kindness to everyone.

Prayer: Lord, help me to be patience with everyone, In Jesus name, Amen
