Stress

Posted on

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Just about every person in the world has stress to some level, some have almost continuous stress where others have stress under certain conditions. High levels of stress can affect our health, by raising blood pressure, effecting the heart, and causing fatigue and sickness, and how to people handle stress? This best way to handle stress is to pray and ask the Lord for peace and comfort.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26) All things are possible for God, and he can calm our stress by giving us peace, and the closer we are to Christ, the more we read the Word, the less stress and the more peace we have. It’s amazing how reading the Word, having a church family, and serving Christ by telling others about eternal life through Christ; how the blessings from Heaven feed our soul, and we get stronger in peace, joy, comfort, and relaxation, that never go away, but gets stronger the closer our relationship to Christ.

Our worldly situation can still remain, but the peace, joy, and comfort that constantly feed our soul, greatly reduces the stress in our life. Satan is always trying to make us stressful and fearful, but when tempted we can call on Christ and ask him to take Satan’s temptation away. Satan and his demons have to obey Christ, because he has total authority over all creation through God the Father.

Christians have power over Satan because we have the indwelling Holy Spirit of God, and Christ is always with us. No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13) When Satan tempts us, we can call on Christ and Satan has to flee, and Christ will enable us to endure the temptation.

We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them. (1 John 5:18) God’s protects Christians from the evil one because all those who are baptized are in God’s family. We stay in God’s family be having a Bible based church family, reading and studying the Word, praying, and telling others about eternal life through Christ. And we know our eternal home is in Heaven, it will greatly reduce our stress.

Today live in peace through prayer, and go through the day relaxed serving Christ.

Prayer: Take away any stress from Satan, live today with peace, joy, and patience, as I serve Christ and read the Word. In Jesus name, Amen.
