Seek to be Holy

Posted on

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

Hebrews 12:14

Holy means we are separate from the sinful world, and we reflect Christ to everyone. God is referred to as Holy, Holy, Holy, which means he is perfect with no sin. It is important to be Holy, because without being Holy we will never see the Lord.

If we are not holy, how can we reflect Christ and be pleasing to our Lord? They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. (John 17:16). It is important we associate with other Christians because it helps us to remain Holy, and we minister to the world with one or more Christians, that way we can keep each other Holy.

Since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy. (1 Peter 1:16) If we are to have the mind of Christ then must be holy, and we strive to be Holy at all times. If have in our minds to be Holy, we will overcome all of Satan’s temptations, because if we yield to Satan’s attack, then we will not be Holy.

And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” (Isaiah 6:3) If God is holy with no sin, the we should seek to be Holy. We cannot be perfect, but that is no reason not to try and be perfect. To be Holy we must be able to control our emotions, because Satan will use our emotions to make us sin.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth” (Psalm 46:10). Being still inside will give us time to remain Holy. If we are rushing through life, our emotions can easily be triggered causing us not be Holy.

Today, seek to be Holy in every situation, and refuse to let Satan trigger your emotions. Instead, respond with a humble heart and with Godly wisdom and show the world that you are calm and in control.

Prayer: Lord, help me to be Holy and never conform to the pattern of this world. Guide me in the Spirit to be in control and to reflect Godly wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
