Seek the Truth
"Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.”
Matthew 24:4
When the apostles ask Jesus: “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age? (Matthew 24:2) Jesus answered, let no one deceive you. Today many people are deceived by Satan’s lies because they don’t know God’s Truth, and many people including some Christians are deceived because they deviate from God’s truth.
Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. (John 17:17) This scripture comes from Jesus’ prayer for his apostles. He prayed that they would live by the truth and the truth comes from God’s Word. We understand scripture through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit because the Word is spiritually discerned. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:14)
We understand what is happening in the world today because we understand what is happening in the spiritual world, and the spiritual world controls the physical world. God is spirit and controls everything, Satan and his demons are spiritual, seeking to control the world, and we are spiritual people controlled either by spirit from the world or by God’s divine Truth.
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32) We must abide in the Word if we desire to know the Truth. The Word is filled with prophecies telling us what life will be like in the last days. The Word tells us God’s plan and reveals the evil plan of Satan.
People try to understand the world today from a worldly sense, which is virtually impossible. From the Word we know the nature of man in the last days, what Satan is doing in the last days, and the prophecies of what has happened and what is to come.
If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. (1 Corinthians 15:19) We were created to live eternally with the Father and the Son in Heaven and this should be our priority in life. God is our judge and the Word tells us how he will judge us, we are not saved based on our self-judgment. Live this life for Christ and you will have life to the full and you will be living for eternity. Know the Word and you will understand the world today and the world in the future.
Seek the truth from the Word. Know that Satan’s goal is to spread his lies through the media, the education system, the government, and the churches. He has succeeding greatly in achieving this goal.
Today live by God’s Truth and seek the sources for truth of what is happening in the world. Pray for the Lord’s guidance in bringing God’s Truth to the world to combat Satan’s lies.
Prayer: Lord, guide me to your Truth and the truth of what is happening in the world, because the world is full of Satan’s lies and deceptions. In Jesus name, Amen
