Saved Through Faith

Posted on

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

Faith in Christ is shown by obeying the Lord, and we fully trust him to guide us to Heaven. Our faith in God is more than we trust ourself. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6) Our faith is in Christ, because he knows us better than we know our self.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) Faith is the key to the Christian life, because it shows we know God, and we know Christ. And when we know Christ, we pray and tell others about eternal life through Christ; and we don’t let Satan but fear in our heart.

The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:7-8) Christians are guided by the Spirit and not by the flesh, which means whatever we do in life, we make sure its agreeable to the Spirit of God.

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14) When we follow the Word and follow Christ, we will remain on the narrow road to Heaven, and Satan has no power to tempt us to the broad road.

We depend on Christ to be with us every hour of life, so we can remain on the narrow road to Heaven. If we don’t depend on Christ to be with us, then our faith can be we weak because we are depending on self. We depend on Christ for everything is life because we reflect Christ every day.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Hebrew 11:1) Christ knows our future, and he is willing to guide us through anything in life. And Christ knows how to guide us through anything in life, if we have the faith to trust Christ over trusting self.

Today trust Christ to be with, you and to guide you anything in life.

Prayer: Lord, increase my faith every day, to trust You in everything. In Jesus name, Amen
