Saved by Faith

Posted on

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Ephesians 2:8

Our faith is determined by how close we are to the Lord, and how strongly we believe God’s faithfulness from the Word. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) It’s through faith that we are saved, therefore it is imperative that our faith is pleasing to God.

Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. (James 2:17) We show our faith by doing what the Lord has called us to do. The Lord may call us do something that we may be insecure about doing, but we remember the Lord is always with us, and he would never guide us to do something the we can’t do because Christ works through us. Faith is serving Christ, always knowing we can depend on Christ.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) Our faith in action shows that we know the Lord and that we will follow his guidance through the Spirit to the best of our ability. With our hearts filled with God’s love we serve the Lord with eagerness to bring Christ to others. And the more we bring Christ to others the more love God pours into our hearts, and the more motivated we are to serve the Lord.

We pray based on our understanding, but always accept God’s answer. When we pray according to his will, his answer we normally understand, but other times his answer is above our knowledge, but we realize he is God is ways are perfect. There is great peace when we always trust God’s ways over our ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9) When we pray always remember this verse when you need faith.

And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:2) Love in our hearts helps us to identify and understand God’s thoughts and ways better, making our prayers more in his will.

Today live by faith that pleases God. Follow Christ and depend on him being with you throughout the day. The more we trust the Lord, the more peace and comfort we receive.

Prayer: Lord make my faith pleasing to you, and make my faith stronger every day. In Jesus name, Amen
