Satan’s Evil Plan

Posted on

The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

Revelation 12:9

Satan is mad at God but he has no power over God, so his goal is to destroy God’s people. Everything that Satan does in this world is aimed at destroying Christians, and he does this by leading the world astray with his deceptive lies. His goal is to get control of countries by leading his people to rule the world, so he can turn the world against Christians. His next goal is to have one of his people, controlled by a demon, to be the ruler of the world.

Satan has led many people in this world to live for their temporary fleshly desires, such as money and power.  He has them seeking contentment through the flesh. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) If our minds are governed by the flesh, we will die meaning our eternal life will not be in Heaven.  We would never experience the lasting fulfillment and contentment that only comes from God through indwelling Holy Spirit.

This is Satan’s plan: to feed our flesh, to be controlled by the world, and to never experience the fulfilling life God has for each of us. If we don’t know the Lord by reading his truth in the Word, then we are being deceived by Satan. People who refuse to give their life to Christ think they have to give up feeding the flesh because Satan has deceived them into thinking living for their fleshly desires is the best life.

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14) Satan has the world so deceived that many don’t even seek to find the narrow road to eternal life. To those in the world, reading the Bible is to become a slave because they think being free is to live by their fleshly desires.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) True freedom only comes from God through Christ. If you are not free in Christ, then you are deceived by Satan and controlled by the world. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) A Christian is not controlled by the world, but controlled by the power for God through the indwelling Holy Spirit. Christians interface the world through the Spirit, meaning the Spirit filters out Satan’s lies.

Today, know Satan’s plan because you see his plan being executed in the world today. Let your thoughts be governed by the Spirit and not governed by fleshly desires.  Remember Christians live with victory because we walk with the Lord, and the Lord is the ultimate power of all creation. Christ will return and destroy all evil by sending them to live with Satan and his demons forever. He will gather the faithful Christians and take us to Heaven.

Prayer:  Lord, help me to always see Satan’s plan in this world, and never be deceived to live by fleshly desires. In Jesus name, Amen
