Receive God’s Love

Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Jude 1:21

God is the author of love and His love for us is more than all the love in the world. He sent his Son from Heaven to earth, to teach us how to live the way we are created, and he died on the cross for our sins. We are filled with the Holy Spirit of God, and Christ is always with us through the Spirit. God has done everything possible so Heaven is our eternal home, except change our free will.

We have a choice between Heaven or Hell, and God has given us a great advantage to choose Heaven as our eternal home. We are created in the image of God, filled with the Spirit, and Christ guides through life to Heaven, and he sets us free from the sinful world. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) God sent His son to die for our sins, and Christ endured the beating, flogging, and suffering death on the cross. Christ has given us the power to fight sin, but we have forgiveness because we cannot be perfect living in the flesh, but through the power of Christ, we overcome any sinful habits.

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions–it is by grace you have been saved. (Ephesians 2:4-5) God saves us when we were dead in our sins, and with a thankful heart we let Christ guide us to Heaven.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. (James 4:8) The closer we are to Christ the closer he is to us, and the closer we are to Christ the more love, peace, joy, comfort we will experience. These blessings feed our soul and they never go away, and they get stronger as we get closer to Christ.

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:8) When our hearts are filled with God’s love, we understand God better, especially when we read a study the Word. It’s a heart of love the truly connects us to the Father and the Son.

Today note the love the Father and the Son have for you, and the many things they have done so Heaven will be your home.

Prayer: Lord, fill my heart with your divine love so I reflect your love to others. In Jesus name, Amen
