Prayer
Pray without ceasing.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing means we commune with the Lord all through our day, just as if he was walking with us. We commune with the Lord because we depend on Him to guide us to be Christ-like at all times. And when we commune with Christ, Satan flees.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. (James 1:6) We ask the Lord about things that please him, such as giving scriptures to someone, inviting someone to Church, or explaining salvation to someone. This is an example of being Christ-like. And we know he will place thoughts in our minds when we are a light for Christ.
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) Our faith is shown by depending on Christ for everything we do, because we need his guidance in everything. We don’t pick and choose when we need Christ, we need Christ with us at all times.
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16) We are a temple because Christ is within us, and he is with us because he wants us to depend on Him in everything we experience in life. We need to remain healthy so we can minister to others, and how can we do this if we are physically unable. We need to keep our body healthy. If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple. (1 Corinthians 3:17)
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. John (15:4) Christ is within us and we can talk to him all day, and he will answer us. When we minister to people, Christ will give us scriptures and words to speak, because he knows the person we are ministering to, and he knows what they need to hear.
Today show your faith through prayer, communing with the Lord many times during the day.
