Pray Reveals Our Faith

Posted on

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:1-2

Our relationship to the Lord is heavily dependent on our desire to pray and commune with the Lord.  How can we have a close relationship with someone if we fail to communicate with them?  Our Christian life is own fire when we have a strong desire to be close to the Lord, and do this by prayer and communing with the Lord.

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)  As Christians our number one priority is to bear fruit by our words and our actions, and we depend on Christ to guide us through the Spirit. If live by this verse we will continually be close to the Lord and we will be filled with increasing love, peace, and joy.

Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.(1 John 5:4)  Through prayer, communing with the Lord, and serving the Lord, we overcome the world because as we get closer to the Lord  and our love, peace, joy, faith, and security, increase overriding any fear from Satan.  The closer we are to the Lord the more Christ-like we become, and overcome the world.

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. (1 Peter 4:12-13) When we pray with a heart of praise, thankfulness, and seeking guidance from our Lord, he will bring us comfort and security that will bring joy to our hearts. It’s impossible to be close to the Lord and not be filled with love, peace, and joy.

Today pray and commune with the Lord and seek to be close to Him. The closer you are to the Lord the more love, peace, and joy you will experience, and you will feel secure in Christ.   Only Christ can bring us true comfort and security, it can never come from the world because Satan wants us to live in fear.

Prayer:  Lord, increase my desire to pray and commune with you today, to seek to be closer to you in my heart. Guide me to read your Word and to pray more. In Jesus name, Amen
