Overcome Stress

Posted on

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Most people have stress at some level while others have continuous stress. The best way to handle stress is to pray and ask the Lord for peace. There is nothing in this world that can bring us divine peace, which only comes from God.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26) God can bring us peace when no one in the world can bring us divine peace. Doctors can prescribe drug to calm us down, but God changes our heart and mind so we live with divine peace. Peace from God stays with us at all times, even when Satan tempts us to be stressful.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23-24) We do everything as doing it for the Lord, and he is always with us giving us peace and joy. When we know Christ is with us, we go through life more relaxed and confident, because Christ guides us through anything in life.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) Only Christ sets us free, independent of life situations, because we are free when we know Heaven is our home. And how can we be stress free if we are not free in Christ? Divine freedom occurs when we are free of self, and life is about Christ and helping others to know the Lord.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13) A heart filled with God’s love motivates us to help others and tell them about salvation in Christ. A heart filled with God’s love, slows us down which gives us divine peace, and we have the desire to help others, which requires peace and patients.

We pray that that the Lord’s power will free from whatever we need to overcome. When we live for Christ with hearts filled with God’s love, we walk in peace, and Heaven is our home.

Today let the Lord take away any stress and replace it with peace, and ask for his divine guidance.

Prayer: Father, take away any stress from my life and replace it with peace and joy, as we live to serve Christ. In Jesus name, Amen.
