Our Thoughts and Words

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.

Isaiah 55;6

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). We capture every thought we have and make it obedient to Christ, because our thoughts can lead us to words.

Our thoughts can drive our words, and we can never take our words back. Our words can uplift people or our words can put people down. If we can control our thoughts then we can control our words, and our words should come from the Spirit. We can have an emotion that should not drive our speech, because our words might hurt someone.

Our thoughts are critically important; because they can drive our words, actions, and emotions, or they can reveal our hearts to God. God give us the power to control and change our thoughts to uplift people toward Christ. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. (Philippians 4:80) This scripture tells us where our thoughts should be, however we have many thoughts that ae on our world tasks.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23-24) If we do everything as doing for the Lord, we can keep our thoughts pleasing to God.
For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. (1 Corinthians 2:11) If we have the Holy Spirit living in us, we can have the thoughts of God in our minds.

Today seek to control your thoughts, because the Lord knows our every thought and word we speak.
