One With the Spirit
If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
John 14, 15-17
The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to guide us through life and convict us when Satan tempts us. We are created by God and it will become natural to be guided by the Holy Spirit, Christ, and the Word of God.
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. (John 14:26) The Spirit enables us to understand the Word and reminds us of scriptures, especially when Satan tempts us. After a relative short time, it will be become natural to be guided by the Spirit, because we are created in the image of God.
And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38) When we repent of our sins and get baptized, we will receive the Holy Spirit through baptism, and we are a new creation on Christ.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. (Romans 15:13) The Holy Spirit fills us with joy and peace that stays with us, and we have the Lord’s power through the Spirit. With the Spirit and the power of Christ; we will call on the Spirit when Satan tempts us, we will understand the Word better, we will read the Word more, pray more, and desire to be with our Christian brothers and sisters.
You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. (Romans 8:9) It is critical we have the Holy Spirit because without the Spirit we do not belong to Christ, and the Spirit is critical because it connects us to Christ and to God.
Today live by the Spirit, and by the Word, and have a church family, all is needed to stay on the road to Heaven.
Prayer, Father, help me to always be controlled by the Spirit, know the Word, and have church family. In Jesus name.
