Obey Gods Commands
If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
John 14:15
We show our love to the Lord by keeping his commands, because it shows we have faith that is put into action. We trust the Lord by obeying his commands, and with a heart of love, we are motivated to obey all of God’s commands.
As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9) God’s ways and thoughts are infinitely above our thoughts and ways, and who are we not have complete faith in God. We should trust God more than we trust ourselves, because God knows us better than we know ourselves.
All of God’s commands are for our benefit, because as we obey his commands he fills our heart with his love, and it’s a heart of love that makes us more like Jesus. And with a heart of love all the commands become natural and desirable to us, because we care about people. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) It’s a heart of love that connects us the Lord and enables us to more fully understand the Word of God.
Without faith no one can please God. Anyone who comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who truly want to find him. (Hebrews 11:6) We have faith to obey God’s commands, because we can bring people to Christ, and with a heart of love we have found Christ and we seek too always be closer to Him. And God rewards us by feeding our soul with love, joy, peace, and whatever he knows what we need, and these blessings get stronger the closer we are to Christ.
Obeying God’s commands is for our benefit, and the rewards are revealed both in this life and in the future in Heaven. As we obey God’s commands, we have the Holy Spirit and Christ with us to guide us and help us.
Today obey God’s commands in the Bible and know Christ is with you. The best life is when live as we are created by God.
