Never Doubt God

Posted on

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind

James 1:6

Always trust God in His ways, even if we don’t understand His ways. Remember God is seeing the world from Heaven and we are seeing it from earth.  It is important to always be close to the Lord because it keeps us eternally minded, and not earthly minded.  Living for eternity will help us to never doubt God because it will bring us closer to Christ and we will trust Him more.

If we doubt God, then our faith is weak because we are leaning on our understanding. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5) If we truly trust the Lord, we will not lean our own understanding, instead we will lean on God’s understanding. Christ makes His home in our hearts, and that’s why He tells us to trust Him over trusting ourselves.

There will be times when God doesn’t answer our prayers the way we expect, and there is a possibility that His answer may make life difficult for us.  If we desire to please God, we will always trust the Lord, and we depend on the Lord to carry us through any difficulties or hardships in life. Remember, God will discipline us as He guides us toward Heaven.

As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9) From this verse, it is obvious we cannot understand all of God’s ways and thoughts, but His goal is to guide us into Heaven. We don’t see physical life as God sees physical life, and that is why Jesus tells us: Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. (Matthew 10:28) Our life is in our soul, not in our flesh. Our flesh is a suit we wear to live on this planet, and it will return to the earth while we will go to Heaven with a new eternal body.

We live as the Lord’s servant, we see the Lord as our perfect master, and we always trust His ways and His thoughts. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself.  (Luke 10:27) It is important to love the Lord more than anything or anybody on the planet because it draws us closer to the Lord and we desire to be the Lord’s servant with faith that pleases Him. We love the Lord more than anything or anybody, and our thoughts are on things above which keeps us in the Kingdom which is within us. We are closer to the Lord than we are to the world, and His power enables us to serve Him and endure anything in life.  So never doubt the Lord and trust his ways and thoughts because He is God, and He loves us more than we can imagine.

Today, trust the Lord with no doubts. Call on the Lord to be with you while ministering to someone, and don’t doubt because He is with you. God is pleased when we trust the Lord in all situations.

Prayer:  Lord, take away any doubts and help me to always trust You.  Give me the faith and guidance from the Spirit to endure life’s struggles with victory in Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
