Lose Your Life for Christ
Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
Matthew 10:39
If we live for self, we lose eternal life, but if we live for Christ, we find eternal life. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. (Galatians 2:20) The apostle Paul lived for Christ, his will changed to do the Lord’s will. When we live for Christ, our old sinful nature disappears and we live life to the full serving Christ. We live with hearts of love and we walk in Godly wisdom.
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) When we live for Christ we are free and no longer in a yoke of slavery, because the sinful world has no control over us. When we live to serve Christ, he changes our hearts, and life is all about Christ and others, because we are free from self. We can be are worst enemy, because we are in a war with our sinful nature. The more will lose our life and live for Christ, the more freedom we experience.
This is not the way of the world, but it is the way of God, and it is the way he created us to live. Satan’s goal is for everyone, including Christians, is to put our will first and Christ’s will second, but God created us to always put Christ’s will first. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33) When we put Christ first and follow the Spirit being a Light on s hill, we live life to the full. Many people hesitate to put Christ first because Satan has people convinced that if they put Christ first, the loose their freedom because they put God’s will over there will. However, we experience that God’s will is always better than our will.
It takes faith and patience to experience the divine blessing of living in the ways of God, to trust his ways over our ways. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) It takes faith to trust the ways of God, because they are not the way of the world. The Lord wants us to trust him because he can give us the most fulfilling and rewarding life we can experience while living on this planet. And He is not pleased when people don’t trust Him, even though he loves us perfectly and has a great desire to bless us.
Today live for Christ, trust the Lord’s way over the way of the world, it was God who created us and only God can give us the best life. Exercise your faith and trust the Lord with your life.
Prayer: Help me to always put you first in my life and to follow the Spirit being a Light for Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
