Be Great, Be a Servant

Posted on

"Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Matthew 20:26-28

Being a servant of Christ and a servant to people is the greatest job on the planet. For people that are self-centered, they cannot be a servant, but if we have a heart for God and others, we desire to be a servant. There is nothing more fulfilling and rewarding than being guided by Christ to help people and telling them about Christ; all for the glory of God. The greatest reward is when someone excepts Christ as their Lord and Savior.

If we want to show others the security that Christ gives us, then we become a servant, guided by Christ to help others. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. (1 Thessalonians 5:11) We encourage people by showing a caring heart and helping them with their physical and spiritually needs. And being a servant of Christ, we are guided by Christ and our hearts to encourage everyone.

The more we follow the Spirit being a servant encouraging others, the more love God puts in our hearts, and the more love that’s in our hearts the more motivated we become. Nothing changes us more that being the Lord’s servant, guided to help others and tell them about Christ. When we are pleasing to God, we experience the greatest meaning of being as a servant. Being a servant makes us humble and secure in Christ, and our life is to the full.

Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. (John 12:26) We follow the Spirit to serve the Lord, and the Lord will always be with us, and the Father will honor us. There is nothing more fulfilling and rewarding than being pleasing to the Father and the Son. The greatest pleasure in life is serving the Lord, helping people and telling them about Christ.

Today live to serve the Lord asking the Lord to guide you by the Spirit to help people and tell them about eternal life through Christ. We always feel good when we help others because that is what God created us to do.

Prayer: Lord open doors today that I can help others and tell them about Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
