Lord of Our Circumstances

Posted on

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts you.

Isaiah 26:3

Whatever circumstances we go through the Lord promises peace if we trust him and stay connected to him with prayer. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7). This verse tells us to give the Lord our anxious moments and he will give us peace.

The Lord loves us perfectly and he wants to be with us through our days and guide us through our difficult and anxious moments. If we ask for his comfort and guidance, we know in our hearts that he cares about us and will help us. Christians ask the Lord for his comfort and refuse to entertain fear or worry from Satan. If we ask, we can depend on the Lord to guide us through the day with peace in our hearts.

To maintain the Lord’s peace in our hearts, it’s vital to commune with the Lord throughout the day. This may seem difficult but with time it becomes natural because the Lord greatly desires to talk with us. Pray that the Lord will help you to commune with him. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires (Romans 8:5). The Spirit enables us to keep our thoughts tuned to the Lord and still perform our daily work. We were created to be connected to the Lord, and the more we keep our thoughts tuned in to the Spirit, the more faith we will have to give us peace, joy, and security.

Today call on the Lord in all your circumstances and ask for his comfort and peace as he guides your day through the Spirit. Know in your heart that the Lord loves you perfectly and desires to help you in everything. Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26). We cannot give ourselves peace in all circumstances, but God can!

Let’s Pray: Father in Heaven, help me to trust you in all things without doubt and to walk in love, peace, and joy. Guide me in the Spirit to reflect your love, peace, and joy to others. In Jesus name, Amen
