Living in the Power of God

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.

1 Corinthians 4:20

How much power do we have from God when the Holy Spirit lives in us and we live as God’s servants? All things are possible for God with his infinite power, wisdom, strength, and love. Can his power be revealed in our lives, or do we somehow limit God’s power?

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)  If we live in the power of the Holy Spirit, then the Lord will strengthen us in his power to be successful in whatever he calls us to do. If we truly believe in God’s power and his promises, our faith will increase and his power will be realized in our lives. We have the power through Christ to overcome the world. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4)

God’s power in our lives is clearly seen as we overcome Satan’s attacks. Satan attacks us with negative emotions such as fear, worry, anger, vengeance, sinful desires, etc. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 5:4) We have power over Satan and his demons through the Holy Spirit. Whenever we are attacked by Satan, we should immediately run to the Lord, and ask him to destroy the negative emotions, and confidently walk in peace and joy, as the Lord guides us step by step through the day. The more we do this, trusting the Lord to take our negative emotions, the more success we experience. If we have the faith to put everything in the Lord’s hands and seek to walk in obedience to his will, we can experience immediate relief from Satan’s attacks and walk confidently with the Lord with peace and joy. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 2:5) Living in the power of God is living in the power of this scripture.

We can readily see the power of God in fighting Satan, and we can also see the power of God when he answers our prayers. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20) If our prayer brings glory to God, and we leave it in God’s hands accepting his answer and timing, and walking in obedience to his will, then we know our prayer will be answered. God answers prayers based on his divine knowledge and power, and he does immeasurably more than we ask for. Let God reveal his power in your life, by becoming his servant and letting God take control with his infinite love, power, and wisdom. This truly indicates that we have stepped off of the throne and become his servants; God does not share his throne with us. When we try to be god, can we expect anything from God our Father?

Today live in God’s power and truth, and know that God will uphold his truth. This is faith, to depend on his truth and power, and not to depend on our power. Step off of the throne and let God reveal his love and power in your life. Remember to live as his servant and to use his love and power to glorify his name to the world. So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. When we do everything for the glory of God we receive his blessings.

Let’s Pray: Lord help me to step off of the throne and to stay off of the throne, and to depend on your love and power to guide me through life. Let the world see your love and power in my life, that they will glorify your name. All praise, thankfulness, and glory is to you Lord. In Jesus name, Amen
